Change of idea
I have now decided to change my original idea completely and pick a new song and a new idea. This change was due to many different factors, main one was how reliant I was on other people to be in the video. I was going to need at least 4 people to be in the band, the main character and many other extras to agree to be in the video. This was too risky to actually rely on people on turning up to video shoots and having the band to be in sync with the song. I also struggled finding a decent strong story line for the narrative. I felt that having the main setting in a school would not look professional and that it looked like I didn't put much effort into finding a decent setting. Finding the band was very difficult, I personally do not have access to a drum set, microphone stand, a bass guitar and trumpets. I also could not find people who would agree to be in the video, I think that how long it would take to film it and that perhaps they felt uncomfortable in front of a camera so once again making the overall outlook of the music video look unprofessional.
Importance of editing
Editing is one of the most importance components in the entire video making process. Quality editing can drastically improve the overall look of a video. Editing in music videos is incredibly advance with more factors to think about like the pace of editing matching the song and the action in the video . e.g lip synching, will need to be synchronized with the song so looks like they are actually singing in the video.
I have had no previous experience of making a music video, so I believe that this will be a challenge.
Due to the nature of my music video(Narrative), I plan to use continuity editing, and a few jump cuts to make the video flow easier and the audience can follow the story. Most music videos are editing so it can keep up with the beat of the song, this can mean it can involve a lot of fast pace editing and cuts.
